Newborn Care:

  • Newborns are assessed immediately post delivery and twice between days 1 and 4. First time mothers get three home visits. One of those visits typically is from one of our IBCLCs.
  • Common tests newborns can receive (not included in global fee) include CCHD screening, hearing screening and PKU.
  • Newborn care is not included in the “global fee” and will billed separately as the baby is a second patient.
  • The most common reason for hospitalization of a newborn is jaundice. To keep our babies home when possible, in collaboration with your pediatric provider, we rent our biliblanket and subcutaneous bilirubinometer (checks bilirubin through the skin) and draw blood for bilirubin also.
