Note: Some of these professional birthworkers are not employees of MidwivesCare LLC but rather independently contracted by MidwivesCare LLC or privately by MidwivesCare LLC clients. They are separate legal entities and responsible for the care/services they provide.
Jennifer Truhlar, RN:
Previous experience working with Bernice Keutzer, CNM as a homebirth assistant. She also has experience working as an OR nurse and helping her husband in his chiropractic practice. Jennifer has delivered her 6 biological ( has seven) children at home. The youngest was delivered with MidwivesCare LLC. NRP, BEST and CPR certified. Jennifer is now a Family Nurse Practitioner working with Fearfully and Wonderfully Made, INC also.
Amanda Younker-Cann, RN:
Amanda previously provided homebirth prenatal, labor and delivery and postpartum/newborn nursing care with a CNM-led homebirth practice in Lombard . Amanda currently works as a school RN. She is a CPR instructor. Amanda had her own home birth. NRP, BEST and CPR certified.
Kelly Corbett: CNA, OBT: Office Manager
Kelly has four children including three with MidwivesCare LLC. Kelly was an OB tech at Metrosouth Medical Center for ten years prior to becoming a birth assistant. Kelly has NRP, BLS and BEST certifications as well as taken Spinning Babies classes. She has the distinction of having our practice’s biggest baby–11lb 4 oz–safely in water at home.
Nancy Widger, ASN, RN.
Nancy has had five children in unmedicated births. Nancy also has homeschooled three of her children. Prior to working with MidwivesCare LLC, Nancy’s background was in adult nursing. Nancy is NRP and BLS certified and has taken BEST and Spinning Babies classes.
Leann Burns, RN & doula
Leann has had 2 babies at home with MidwivesCare LLC! Leann combines her work history of pediatric nursing and labor and delivery nursing with her dedication to home birth. She also offers doula services though her private doula service. Leann is also one of our postpartum nurses. She has taken BLS, CPR, Birth Emergency Skills Training and Spinning Babies.
Vanessa Pallozzi, RN:
Vanessa has 5 children, the last two born at home with MidwivesCare LLC. Vanessa was inspired by her home delivery to join our team and share her family’s blessing with others. Vanessa has taken Spinning Babies, NRP, CPR and BLS and Birth Emergency Skills Training.
Samantha Whitaker, RN, MSN:
Samantha is a nurse with her RN, MSN who teaches labor and delivery at the undergrad level. She has birth assisted Bernice CNM. After Bernice retired, Samantha began assisting at births for MidwivesCare LLC. She has taken Birth Emergency Skills training and is NRP and BLS certified. Samantha has three children: 1 transfer from homebirth, a surprise home VBAC, and her last child was born with us in the water outside on her farm.
